New regulations for transport to and from Romania

Gersthofen, 15.05.2024. The Romanian Ministry of Finance monitors the international road transport of goods via the ‘RO e-Transport’ system. The recipient is obliged to register all consignments that comply with the relevant regulation on the RO e-Transport system and to communicate the registration number (UIT number) received there to all parties involved (CMR, freight forwarder, buyer/seller, trader).

Until now, the law has only been applied to certain categories of goods with a high tax risk. At the beginning of this year, the authorities decided to extend the law to all types of goods.

From 01 July 2024, non-compliance will result in penalties of between 4,000 and 20,000 euros plus the value of the goods. This means: NO UIT number – NO shipping.

The UIT number must be available before the start of transport in Romania and can be applied for a maximum of three calendar days before transport.

What does this mean for customers of the Andreas Schmid Group?

For transport to Romania, request the UIT number from the Romanian recipient and send us the shipment including the UIT number by e-mail to serviceinternational@andreas-schmid.de before it is collected. This will enable us to transport your consignment directly to Arad with our daily departures without any delays.
