Change in the Management Board at Andreas Schmid Group: CDO Dr Matthias Schindler hands over to Dr Matthias Marquart

Gersthofen, 18 September 2024. As of 1 January 2025, Dr.-Ing. Matthias Schindler will hand over the board responsibility for digitalisation & IT at the Andreas Schmid Group to Dr.-Ing. Matthias Marquart. Dr Schindler, Chief Digital Officer and member of the board of the Andreas Schmid Group since January 2022, will not extend his commitment beyond 31 December 2024 for personal reasons. To ensure a smooth transfer to his successor, Dr Schindler will start handing over the baton to Dr Marquart as early as 1 October 2024.

Dr Schindler has been responsible for the digitalisation of the Andreas Schmid Group, the restructuring of the IT department and the successful development and implementation of the IT strategy for the Group. During his tenure, numerous strategic initiatives of the digital transformation have been implemented that have sustainably strengthened the company.

Particular highlights are the results in robotic process automation, innovative apps, visual analytics, IT modernisation and security,” says Dr Schindler in his farewell.

We will continue along this path. We would like to thank Dr Schindler for his commitment and look forward to working with Dr Marquart.”

Dr Matthias Marquart is an expert in digitalisation. After completing his doctorate at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern in 2014, he joined a German MDAX company as an R&D manager. Most recently, he has been shaping the global digital transformation there as Chief Digital Officer. In his new role, Dr Marquart will take over responsibility for digitalisation, IT and the venture portfolio of the Andreas Schmid Group.
